Macy's Memorial Day Float

The theme this year was "America the Beautiful." Macy's teacher offered to build a base for anyone who would be interested in creating a float. Never one to miss an opportunity to do something creative, Macy jumped right in, and this is what she came up with:

She divided it into 4 different sections with 4 different themes--

BEAUTIFUL. . . because of the sacrifice of soldiers.

For this section, she copied all the names of fallen soldiers from Middletown Springs from the memorial on the town green.

BEAUTIFUL. . . because of the majesty of nature. (with lots of green trees and a couple mountains.)

BEAUTIFUL. . . because of the hard work of citizens.

BEAUTIFUL. . . because of the fearless protectors.

 

And Lady Liberty was the centerpiece.
